What we collect and why
We collect your email, optional first name and subscription/consent records to send ESS energy updates and relevant referral information. AWeber also processes technical and delivery information to operate the signup and email service, such as signup time, IP address and delivery or engagement events. Marketing emails are based on your consent. Joining is optional; email is needed to deliver updates, and you need not provide your name.
Who processes it and where
We use AWeber Systems, Inc. and its service providers to manage subscriptions and send emails. AWeber processes information in the United States and states that it participates in the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See AWeber privacy information for transfer safeguards and processing details. We do not sell your signup information or pass it to energy suppliers through this form. If you later request an introduction, we will separately explain the supplier and information to be shared.
How long we keep it
We keep active subscription information while it is needed to provide the updates you have requested. After you unsubscribe, marketing stops; limited suppression and consent records may be retained where necessary to honour your choice and demonstrate compliance. Retention depends on those purposes and applicable obligations.
Your choices and rights
Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact us to withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to direct marketing. Contact us about any concern; you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint .
